ALBERT FLOYD "PETE" HARRIGAN, age 77, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006. He was baptized and a member of Hobart Methodist Church, a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1948 and attended Florida State University. Pete was the owner/operator of Harrigan Realty in Hobart, Valparaiso and Michigan City, IN. He organized and was the first president of the Board of Realtors in Hobart, IN. He was a member and president of the chamber of Commerce, a charter member of Phi Delts, a member of the Hobart Rotary, the Jaycees, coached Little League and was instrumental in the organization of Ho Hive. Pete served on the school board and was a Councilman. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served as an MP and a member of the Howlin Mad Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He was a member of American Legion Post #54. Pete served as a policeman in Hobart for many years. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia "Patty" Harrigan of Hobart, IN; children: Debra (Ron) Schwuchow, Stacee (Don) Harrigan and Jason (Michelle) Harrigan; grandchildren: Andrew (Stephanie) Schwuchow, John (Holly) Schwuchow, Michael Schwuchow and Peter Harrigan; great-grandchild, Christopher Schwuchow; brother, Donal Harrigan; and sister, Mary Jane Bradley both of Florida. Preceded in death by his parents: Floyd and Goldina Harrigan; brother, Richard Harrigan; and brother-in-law, Dr. Charles Bradley. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN with Rev. Jonathon Gosser officiating. Cremation by the Burns Funeral Home Crematory preceded the memorial service. Friends were able to meet with the family on Saturday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. (time of service).
