FRANK KNIGHT JR., age 85, of Hobart, IN, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007. He was a Hobart resident since 1948. Frank was a friend of Bill W. and was of a long standing member of an organization dealing with addiction and he will be long remembered for his loving help and assistance to so many. He was truly an inspiration for how mankind should treat each other. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII. He was a honorary member of the Howlin Mad Marine Corps League. He was also a member of American Legion Post 454 of New Chicago. Frank retired from U.S. Steel after 35 years of service. He is survived by sons, Frank Knight III of Portage, Noel (Karen) Knight of Lake Station, George Knight of Portage, David (Marcella) Knight of Tulsa, OK; daughters Elizabeth (Bill) Robertson of Crossville, TN, Patti Myers of Michigan City, Barbara (Michael) Layton of Portage; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee Knight (nee Louks); parents Frank Sr., and Patti Knight. Funeral services are Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road. There will be a procession to Calvary Cemetery for a committal service. Cremation will follow at Calvary Crematory, Portage.
